Orangeye and iRadio recently undertook a major promotion: Here’s what our major sponsor had to say:
Recently, Orangeye Media along with iRadio and major sponsor An Pucan and 1520 in Galway embarked upon a major station promotion.
The large scale campaign, called The iRadio Thief, encompassed all of iRadio’s 15 Counties, using a combination on-air, website content and social channels.
iRadio listeners and followers on social media were tasked with tracking down the ‘iRadio Thief,’ a rouge hijacker who was constantly disrupting iRadio’s broadcast and taunting presenters.
The promotion was a major success.
Not only did we see a spike in engagement across our social platforms and web numbers, but we also noticed a major boost in listener interaction on-air.
While major sponsor An Pucan and 1520 certainly gained a significant amount of exposure and promotion for having taken part.
Receiving daily mentions on-air and online, and being earmarked as the ‘heroes’ of the hunt for the iRadio Thief after donating all the reward money on offer for his capture, the two Galway establishments were extremely pleased with what they received from the campaign.
Reflecting on the promotion Marketing Manger for the Connacht Hospitalty Group Doug Leddin said:
”When we were looking for a major promotion to boost brand awareness for our bar 1520 and An Pucan we felt we needed to work with someone creative and as at least as social media competent as ourselves. We immediately identified iRadio as a brand that could offer us a huge amount both online and on air.
From day one it was a very easy and enjoyable process, we met Elaine our rep to go through our thoughts and hopes for the campaign and very quickly she came back with a presentation which outlined the details of the entire process. The concept was very strong as was the attention to detail and we were very confident in the execution having worked with the station on numerous occasions in the past.
Once the campaign got underway the branding, including the on-air links and the social media and web content was fantastic and drove significant numbers to our various platforms. Throughout the campaign we were being tagged in tweets, posts on Instagram stories so we were comfortably able to keep track of the activity which was ultimately delivered to us in a very impressive post campaign presentation.
The entire process was a joy from start to finish from our perspective including the final day which included a live broadcast from An Pucan which really helped to drive home our presence in the campaign, it felt more like a partnership that merely taking adverts on the radio.
In terms of word of mouth the feedback was fantastic the campaign was a great success with countless people mentioning it to staff and management. The entire iRadio team from Sales, iTeam, technical team, presenters and in particular Hazel Fleming (not sure of her job titile) could not have been more helpful and engaging.
We were extremely happy with the campaign and certainly found it value of money and one of our most successful campaigns to date.”
